probably way over my head to do but as a matter of interest - what kind of bandwidth would u need and how important would the spec of the spare machine be.  

couldn't we just use a public server to try it out or am i being thick again

i played last nite by starting my own multiplayer game so i could practise flying 'again '- i was the only one there but not sure if anyone else could get in even if they wanted to.
