GameShadow has singled out the following patch as a critical update:

Nvidia GeForce 6800 Fix

Even though I have an ATI Radeon I thought I'd install it any way to keep things "tidy".

This was a mistake. It did not install correctly and had weird side-effects such as removing the Prince Of Persia image from the desktop shortcut, although the now-blank shortcut still worked. I just reinstalled the game to fix this.

Two questions:

:: I assume I don't even need this patch - am I right?

:: How do I get rid of this, so I am not constantly being told there is a critical update for this game. And if I can do this, what happens if a "genuine" critical update comes along at a later date?

Please help!

So this critical update only related to PoP?  Or was it a G Card message?

Sorry, I should have made it clear in my first post that this was marked in GameShadow as being a critical update for Prince Of Persia Sands Of Time.

Good spot. I'm sure this will be fixed asap.

Edit: For future reference you might want to apply ATI-specific video patches only
