It would be nice to see some support for a few of the more common games produced by Independent Houses (eg. Grubbygames). I'm not sure if it would work though. Would it be an endless battle to keep up with what's out there? Perhaps an idea, as there are some quality products out there that deserve to have their little name shouted a bit louder

Hi there,

GameShadow is looking at supporting some of the best Independent games out there. It would be great if you and other forum members could let me know the names of the some of the recent indie games that you think should be recognised. A brief description of why you think the games are great would be helpful too

One of my favorite indie games is N

N is an award-winning freeware Macromedia Flash computer game developed by Metanet Software. It was inspired in part by Lode Runner, Soldat, and other such games, and features a realistic physics engine. The name is derived from "The Way of the Ninja," which is described in the background story. N features a ninja, who is the player-controlled character in the game.

The concept is simple and the graphics are basic but the game as a whole is excellent - a decent learning curve always has you coming back for more when you can't complete that level.

A strong community is constantly generating new maps and there is a strong competitive element with people vying for top spot on time trial ladders.

All in all an excellent addition to anyone's gaming collection

I really enojoyed Gish from Chroniclogic

Gish isn't your average hero, in fact he's not your average anything... see Gish is a ball of tar. A Sunday stroll with his lady friend Brea goes awry when a shadowy figure emerges from an open man hole and pulls Brea into the ground below. Following Brea's calls for help Gish suddenly finds himself in the subterranean sewers of Dross, a long forgotten city filled with twisting corridors, evil traps and some of the most demented creatures imaginable.

With his gelatinous structure as his only means of defense Gish must follow the echoing cries of his damsel in distress deep into the earth below. What freakish creatures dwell in this subterranean land? Who is Brea's captor? And just how far down does the rabbit hole go?

Life isn't easy when you're a 12 pound ball of tar...

Some elements of the game remind me of Super Mario Bros of old, but the whole ball o' tar thing works really well. The graphics and physics are real strong points, and while the story isn't entirely original you'll play it again and again looking for all the secrets you missed first time around or just simply to better your score and the time it took you to beat the levels.
