| Posted 15th February 2008 17:47 | | | I understand that if you click a download link on the GS website in IE, GameShadow can recognise it and start the download. Unfortunately as an Opera user, I just get directed to the GS download page even though it's already installed. I used to have a similar problem with Steam, but they now use links that start with 'steam://' instead of 'http://'. This appears to allow any browser to recognise the link and open it correctly regardless of how obscure it is.
I'm sure that half the hooks required to implement something like this are already in GS, since you can already link to IE. It would be nice for once to be able to download something without having to re-find the item in GS or switch to IE just for one link...
Also, it's nice to see a decent Games Support company in the UK. Any jobs going? |
