Posted 14th January 2004 06:03 | | | Thanks Maikadal but NWN do's support only C not C+. They have probably done this to limit user access a bit and are probably trying to make it as simple to use as possible. This would be fine in a perfect world but not everyone knows C and most of the books about it have been been removed to mwke way for books on C+, C++ and Visual Basic and VBNet. I'll learn it though and I am starting to pull things together finally. Hope Zilla passed on the beginning bit of the game to you, the taster and thing.
Cheers

| Posted 14th January 2004 23:25 | | | Yes, Batman, got the stuff from Zilla [ ] sounds cool, but still very vague. Can you tell us any more about the plot, etc.? Or why it is that a person can't experience the full thing? Also, are there any specific areas that you will need us to create - or anything in the Forgotton Realms world?

| Posted 15th January 2004 16:32 | | | I'm trying to keep the plot vague for a reason. By the way the plot is now changing as Layonarras World seems to have a similar storyline. What I was trying to do was let people what areas they would work on as I got told by you guys what you wanted to build. If anything major plotwise happened in that area I would tell you what it was so that you could incorperate the encounter. This way no-one knew the whole plot and so you would be able to play it through without having all the suprises revealed, so that way could still enjoy playing it. I wanted you guys to add sub plots of your own that I wouldn't know about so I could play it too without knowing everything as well. On the building front i think we should build the whole of the Realms if possible using what knowledge we have from previous games and from what source material I have. If you have wanted to update Icewind Dale to 3d then do it, same with Baldurs Gate locations. I have every book to do with the Forgotten Realms (Game books, not novels), so there are still a lot of locations out there. I also want to use a lot of the stuff already available from all 3 games but as we are using them say 10 years after the events in those games, we can change them. Buildings have been rebuilt, people have moved on so forth. I have read so much about different areas that we can have fun doing this as we will have a lot of artistic license, such as will Nevwrwinte have a cultAribeth, who think that her evil self was the true Aribeth. Things like that can make the game ours. More soon

| Posted 31st January 2004 19:12 | | | O.K I'm back on track with the story after a few family problems. Not going as fast I would like because of them, but nothing I can do about it. Areas that people could start on if they wish are any areas of Icewind Dale, Daggerdale, Shadowdale, The Moonshae Islands, Thay,Waterdeep,Deepingdale, etc (most of the Dales).Silver Marches,The High Forest,Thar,Myth Drammor,Calimshan,Amn and espically Battledale (very important!). If anyone wants to go have a go at any of these or even a different Plane, let me know and I will pass on what ever information I have about the place you want to try. I am still trying to work out how part of the GhostWalk setting and what parts of the Underdark to use. If anyone has played Hordes of Underdark (I haven't yet as my hard drive was kaput),could you let me know what locations they use so I can plan accordingly.
For those of you who haven't guessed who the people in the tavern where, they were Bahmut and Tiamat, the major 2 Dragon Gods of good and evil. Also the barmaid was also a special kind of dragon. I am hoping to take the game back to it's roots by facing dragons and bad guys, not having a dilema being the reason for your troubles. The only dilema will be if you are good are evil and how you decide to complete the quests.
More soon I promise.
Cheers

| Posted 1st February 2004 13:07 | | | If anyone can get back to me on the locations they use in Urentide and Hordes it will be extremely usefull. I am busy looking at how both Underdark maps and Realms maps coincide (Underdark runs all the way under the whole of the Realms! Big area!), Plus I am looking at only usin specific character sets i.e Half Dragon etc. Having looked at the story so far, I think we will have to split it up intop a number of chapters. The first 5 covering Metal Dragons, the next 5 Chromatic dragons and then we will see what happens with the other types. We may throw them into the other chapters to try and cut the work down. After looking at a few of the persistant worlds, I feel that if we can pull this off, in theroy we should have a better world than they currently have on the web and depending on how well I can learn to script, (at the moment hopelessly)we will have a chance. Anyone who also wants to create villans and subplots go ahead and I will(PROMISE) give out the story as soon as possibel for the first chapter.

| Posted 21st February 2004 07:06 | | | O.K Guys I apologise for the slowneess that the mod is taking andI accept that it is my fault. I should be further along than i am but i have a good reason which Zilla knows about but I will sort of explain here. A member of my family has been taken ill with a terminal illness. We don't know how long they have to live so my time is taken up with having to look after them, as i am the only one at home all day. This is why I am only on the forums occasionally nowdays. This has been going on for a couple of months now and i am trying to get the document finished but i am sorry but my family comes first. I will try to get some more done this weekend as the family mamber is in hospital at the mo, so keep the faith.
Cheers
