IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles Comments (2)

  • mirum13 Sep, 2008 19:46I also have the FSX, but it`s more fun and very good graphics in IL--2.A cheep and very good flightsimulator.Mirum.

  • Lionman10 Jan, 2009 11:58IL2 Forgotten Battles is the standard to which all WW2 air combat sims must be compared, as it is simply the best ever. The aircraft skins have double the size and detail of those in its predecessor Il2 Sturmovik and its flight models, although still not perfect, are far more realistic and much harder to fly. This is no arcade game but a real flight simulator with very realistic combat physics. Pistone engined air combat with guns is perhaps the hardest form of duelling ever devised by man and once you can get off the grass without crashing, staying alive in a dogfight will take every scrap of skill you can muster. You need the best quality joystick you can afford and IMO force feedback too. I recommend buying the IL2 1946 version as that includes ALL the upgrades, patches, add-ons for IL2 FB, including Pacific Fighters and the Aces Expansion pack, plus a long list of German
